Publication of a Posthumous Work by Professor Vincent Lemieux
February 24, 2016
Is it possible to study politics systematically, to analyze it the way we do the economy or nutrition? Can the behaviour of voters or politicians be described according to scientific rules? Throughout his productive as professor of political science, Vincent Lemieux taught thousands of students just how that could be done. In this posthumous publication, the concepts of power and structures serve as a connecting thread through more than fifty years of his work in political science. This book serves as a kind of intellectual autobiography of “the last of the founding fathers” of political science in Québec, whose name is associated with the prize awarded by the Canadian Political Science Association to the authors of the best doctoral theses in this field.
